dis·cog·ra·phy n., pl. dis·cog·ra·phies.
That really says it all about Discogs, right? Perhaps not. inthemix.com.au stated it best. "Discogs is technogeek heaven-an online, free collective". It is a place for those of us who live and breath electronic music to come together and celebrate, argue, debate and share with others like ourselves. There are members who are young people, just starting to learn about electronic music, as well as seasoned veteran DJs, many around before the word 'techno' entered our language. Discogs Compilation Vol. 1 was not in fact our idea. It was an idea suggested by a Discogs user (it was evja, right?). The idea got kicked around for a while, but did not go forward. Well, we could not let it go. There was simply to much good music being posted. There was simply to much talent to be ignored. So Deluxe Curl took up the challenge. It was worth the effort. We have ignored the entire practical aspect of Discogs. Its a HUGE electronic music database. Discogs was started in November 2000 by Kevin Lewandowski; programmer, dj, and music fan. From simple beginnings, it has grown to be the definitive source for information about electronic music. Need to know who did that white label happy hardcore remix of Pavarati singing Don Giovanni? You have come to the right place. Users can store their own personal collections online, while at the same time, enriching the database by adding material. A organic, growing sea of data. Peace and love to the Discogs community. -JH |

Deluxe Curl Records and Joshua Herrala speaking to Richie Hawtin about the new Apple i-pod. Techno and House or Jungle with Drum and Bass playing on Technics with Detroit Techno and Chicago House using a Numark Mixer with Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox playing with Adam Beyer on his Vestax mixer and Gemini trance is finding Tresor and Drum Code and Definitive Records so that John Aquaviva can Rave at Construct Rhythm booth DEMF or hardcore techno and Brian Zentz and Speedy J playing with Fred Gianelli and all the acid house you like. You like techno? No reason for weak techno to stop you. Techno can always be played. Paul Oakenfold is not good. Perlon is a great label. Rave is the future. Techno can be compared to Technics 1200. MK5. The Roland TB-303 played acid for the 303, but he MC-303 was not the 303 of choice. The Detroit Techno revolution is UR and Mad Mike Banks. But Detroit Techno cannot be simplified. Acid house is nice if Techno cannot be found.
